Founded in 1906, COMPAÑIA DE REMOLCADORES IBAIZABAL, S.A., has been since then dedicated basically to providing services at the Port and Ria of Bilbao with a fleet presently comprising 14 tugboats and an self-propelled water tanker for supplying ships.

Five tugs mainly carry out services to ships at the oil installations of the Port.

The GETXO, GERNIKA, GALDAMES AND GATIKA, deserve special mention, as all of them are Voith Water Tractor type, fully automated, with modern maximum range "Fi-Fi 1" fire-fighting apparatus, anti-pollution and rescue equipment.
